MiG-23MF

As most other countries in the Warsaw Pact Bulgaria recieved the MiG-23MF Flogger interceptor. In October of 1978 the 18 IAP based at Dobroslavtsi near Sofia, received the first of twelve MFs. A number of those were lost in accidents. In 1996 a few received a limited upgrade enabling them to soldier on until their withdrawal in November 2002. Some BVVS MiG-23MFs carry a red bord-number instead of a white one.
